    What is SATs Companion?

    SATs Companion is a comprehensive online resource tool, which has been specially designed by teachers and headteachers for the new KS2 SATs Tests. Our aim is to ensure your pupils are fully prepared as well as to support you in tracking their progress to ensure they succeed and reach their potential.

    Is the system based on the New National Curriculum?

    Yes, our team of teachers have broken down every strand and sub-strand of the New UK National Curriculum to help your child succeed.

    Does SATs Companion offer practice papers?

    We like to live by the motto ‘Practice makes perfect’. Our subscription includes 10 x timed practice test sets for both Maths & SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar).

    NEW test sets are added half-termly free of charge.

    These are the latest test based on the new framework, curriculum  and question styles!

    Do I need to install a program on my computer to access SATs Companion?

    No, you will not be required to install any programs or software to access SATs Companion.

     

    Can my child access SATs Companion on their mobile or tablet?

    At the moment, SATs Companion can be accessed only on desktop, laptop and tablets (Android & IOS)

    SATs Companion can be used on the following latest browsers: Firefox, IOS. Chrome and Internet Explorer.

     

     

     

    What are the technical requirements for SATs Companion?

    SATs Companion is accessible through PC, Mac, tablets (in landscape mode only) and is compatible with all internet browsers.

    How much time will it take to learn to use the SATs Companion suite?

    The SATs Companion suite allows anyone with even basic computer skills to go through the modules in minutes. Besides, on the main dashboard we have created a 5 minutes video walk-through to help you get the most benefits from SATs Companion as soon as possible.

    How long should my child spend on the system?

    One revision task contains 20 questions on any strands or sub-strands and (has an average duration of) last on average from 40 to 45 minutes.

    You are allowed to select and schedule the revision tasks your child/pupils will complete each day, however, we recommend they spend as much time as they need to improve.

    How long does a SATs test take to complete?

    The Maths test contains:

    • 1 x Arithmetic paper (duration: 30min)
    • 2 x Reasoning papers (duration: 40min each).

    The English test contains:

    • 1 x Spelling test (duration: 15min)
    • 1 x Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar test (duration: 45min)

    Each paper can be taken separately within SATs Companion.

    What happens if the internet connection drops?

    If the internet connection drops, you won’t be able to log in and, unfortunately, you’ll have to redo the test (on the bright side, you’ll get more practice).

    What are the payment methods?

    We take credit card (Visa and Mastercard) and Paypal payments.

    Can I cancel my subscription?

    We’re sad to see you go. Your subscription will automatically expire from the date of your purchase unless you renew your account with us.

    I found a problem or bug in the system. What should I do?

    On the side of the pages within SATS Companion  is a feedback button, please click and fill in the information.

    This will be sent to our technical team who will endeavour to resolve the issue promptly.

    Parent Account

     

    Does membership include all of my children or do I need to purchase separate accounts?

    You need to purchase separate accounts for each individual child.

    Can I pay monthly?

    As a parent, you can pay monthly (£15). Please bear in mind the monthly price will be debited for 12 months. If you cancel before the 12 months, you will be charged for the remainder months.

    Can I purchase English and Maths separately?

    English and Maths are like salt and pepper, so SATs Companion likes to give you both rather one.

    Will you be adding more tests?

    Yes, we will be adding more tests.

    School Account

     

    What are the requirements to register as school?

    To register as a school, you will need a valid DfE number.

    Can I purchase English and Maths separately?

    English and Maths are like salt and pepper, so SATs Companion likes to give you both rather one.

    Is a subscription active for a calendar year or a school year?

    Your subscription is active for a calendar year from the date of your purchase.

    Can pupils access SATs Companion from home?

    SATs Companion is accessible from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

    Can I export my reports to excel?

    Yes, there should be an export to excel button in the teacher dashboard.

    Can I set my pupils specific topics?

    We have an ‘active/inactive’ function that allows you to set topics in line with your lesson plans.

    How will I receive feedback on my pupils’ progress?

    As soon as your pupil completes a test/revision bank topic, their results will appear in the reporting table.

    Will you be adding more tests?

    Yes, we will be adding more tests.

    Can I print a test or worksheet?

    We have printable tests and worksheets for every topic, including answer keys.

    Can I move on from Test 1 to Test 3?

    We want the tests to be like the real thing, so you have to do the tests in order.

    How do I earn awards?

    Your teacher will have set a pass mark range (for example, 70% – 80%) for your revision bank and test sets. If your scores fall within that range, you’ll earn awards.

    How many times can I do a test?

    Each test can be attempted three times.
